Beavers are young people aged between 6 and 8 years who are members of the Scout Association. Within the colony they work in one of three small groups called Lodges. There are usually 24 young people in a Colony and a small team of adults who plan and run the programme. The Principles of the Beaver Scout Programme are:
These underpin all that is done in Beaver Scouting and describe what Beaver Scouting is all about. Beaver Scouts learn about the themselves - exploring their feelings and developing good habits of health and hygiene. Beaver Scouts get to know people - finding out about people in their family, the family of Scouting, and the local community and wider world. Beaver Scouts explore - discovering the exciting world of science, nature and technology, exploring the natural and man made world. Beaver Scouts care - growing in their love of God and responding to the needs of others, the local community and the wider world. ABOVE ALL WE HOPE TO MAKE THIS FIRST STEP WITHIN THE WIDER SCOUTING FAMILY.... FUN!Want to join? Click here to contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
