badge-infoWhen you are invested as a Beaver Scout you will receive your red Great Amwell Group Scarf and four other identification badges.

The first is the purple World Membership Award Badge. This Award has been designed to help Beaver Scouts understand the commitment that they are making when they make their Promise and become Members of the Beaver Section within the Worldwide Scouting Movement. This is given together with the Hertfordshire County and the Ware and District Badge. Plus the Great Amwell Scout Group nametape and Colony nametape, that's either Wolves or Bears.

There are a whole host of other badges available to earn both at home and within the normal Beaver sessions. To get the most up to date information on them click here to go to the main Scouts website, Beaver Scout badges page. This will open in a new page.

CORE BADGES are obtained upon joining or moving on from the Colony, or for time spent in the Scouting movement.

ACTIVITY BADGES can mostly be done at home with a parent. Once you have fulfilled the requirements, discuss with your Beaver leader an appropriate time to share your achievement with the rest of the Colony. Then you can be awarded with the badge.

CHALLENGE AWARDS are part of the Balanced Programme for the whole Colony. They are not activities to be undertaken individually, Beavers will gain their badges while taking part in normal weekly Beaver sessions. The Balanced Programme is spread over two years, so regular attendance is needed to gain all 6 of the Challenge Awards.
